Tree Services Nichols Hills, OK
Nichols Hills is one of Oklahoma's most distinguished and storied municipalities — a meticulously planned enclave of just two square miles tucked entirely within Oklahoma City, bordered by The Village to the north and Oklahoma City on all other sides. The 1,280 acres now known as Nichols Hills were developed as an exclusive residential area by Dr. G.A. Nichols in 1929, who by that time had already developed numerous Oklahoma City neighborhoods including the University District, Paseo Arts District, and Heritage Hills. Inspired by a tour of America's most prestigious communities — including Beverly Hills — Nichols envisioned a town where home building and the business amenities conducive to family life would be paramount, with the typical grid pattern of city streets avoided in favor of wide lanes that followed the contours of the low hills, and the starkness of the prairie broken up by the planting of thousands of trees and shrubs to create an English countryside ambiance. Dr. Nichols hired Hare and Hare, a Kansas City landscape architecture firm known for its work on Kansas City's Country Club Plaza, to design the city, resulting in distinctive curving streets named after English towns, punctuated by small and large parks, two golf courses, bridle paths, a polo field, a clubhouse, and tennis courts. Today the city is home to the prestigious Oklahoma City Golf and Country Club, Nichols Hills Plaza, and notable residents including Oklahoma City Thunder co-owner Clayton Bennett, Thunder head coach Mark Daigneault, NBA MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, former Oklahoma Governor Frank Keating, and Love's Travel Stops founder Tom Love.
The tree canopy of Nichols Hills is among the most intentional and magnificent in all of Oklahoma — a living legacy of Dr. Nichols' original vision to transform open prairie into an English countryside. Thousands of trees and shrubs were planted from the very beginning to define the character of the community, and nearly a century later those plantings have matured into towering canopies of native and ornamental species lining every curve of the city's signature winding streets. Mature elms, oaks, pecans, and cottonwoods anchor the largest estates, while redbuds, dogwoods, and ornamental cherries add seasonal color throughout the residential corridors. Many properties feature professionally landscaped yards with scenic views of local parks or the golf course, and the neighborhood's winding streets and mature trees create a sense of privacy and tranquility that is deeply tied to property values and community identity. Kite Park, a community favorite for flying kites, playing sports, or simply enjoying the outdoors, and the numerous pocket parks woven throughout the city's residential fabric all benefit from canopy trees that have been growing and shaping this landscape for decades.

We are committed to providing top-tier care, from routine maintenance to post-storm cleanup, ensuring your trees are not only beautiful but also healthy and secure. Trust our experienced team to bring a new level of expertise to your outdoor space — whether it's carefully shaping century-old elms along one of Nichols Hills' iconic curving lanes, managing the health of a sprawling pecan on a multi-acre estate, or preserving the ornamental plantings that make this community Oklahoma's most beautiful residential landscape.
